NSC Teacher Training

We offer workshops at NSC in best practices, interactive techniques, and creating student-centered activities for teaching ESL. Summer workshop dates and topics are as follows:

  • June 12th, 2010 9:30-1:30 Methods and Techniques That Work
  • June 19th, 2010 9:30-1:30 Interactive Activities for Teaching Pronunciation
  • June 26th, 2010 9:00-1:30 Creating Student-Centered Lesson Plans
  • July 10th, 2010 9:00-1:30 Integrating Skills While Having Fun
  • July 17th, 2010 9:00-1:30 Techniques for Teaching Literacy

Each 4-hour workshop costs $100.00. The 20-hour training, with a certificate of participation, costs $450.00. Workshops require a minimum of 10 participants, or they will be canceled. Act 48 credits will be provided for public school teachers. We also train teachers on-site at their place of work.

(Note: NSC volunteer teachers attend the first two trainings for free.)
