Education
Nationalities Service Center’s Education Department offers classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult immigrants and refugees to help them succeed as workers and members of the community. Students’ language skills are assessed and they are placed in one of seven levels of ESL classes.
All our classes are taught by highly motivated, well-trained volunteer teachers who help students gain a richer understanding of U.S. culture and society.
Nationalities Service Center is happy to announce our new Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ESL classes! Introductory, Beginning ESL, Intermediate ESL, Advanced ESL, and Literacy skills will be offered at these new times in addition to our regular ongoing weekday classes. Click here to see our full course schedule and fees.
For more information about off-site ESL and Spanish language classes, as well as teacher training and teacher certification classes, please contact Ellen Polsky at epolsky@nscphila.org. Nationalities Service Center is an Act48 accredited site by the PA Department of Education.
Please call (215) 893-8400 for information on course fees and scholarships.
Give Today! $150 provides one 10-week scholarship to a student who could otherwise not afford to learn English. Indicate “ESL Scholarships” in the designation field.
