Welcoming Iraqi Families, Celebrating Iraqi Culture
In June 21, 2008 NSC held its first event aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing community support for over 100 Iraqi refugees who are expected to be resettled by NSC before September 30, 2008. The day-long event featured a photo exhibit by Linda Panetta; a healing youth art project lead by Lily Yeh; paintings by an Iraqi artist, Thamer Dawood; and an incredible array of speakers.
