Refugee and Community Services

Refugee Reception & Placement

This program is the core of the department.

First it helps preparing Affidavits of Relationships (AORs) and assisting sponsoring relatives prior to family reunification in the US. Upon arrival, NSC works with the refugees, their sponsoring relatives and various public and community agencies to ease the transition. For 90 days, NSC coordinates services for each case.

NSC coordinates services which include:

  • connection with public benefits
  • health screenings
  • community orientation
  • adjustment counseling
