NATIONALITIES SERVICE CENTER

In keeping with Nationalities Service Center's long history of providing much-needed and important immigration and refugee services, the education department provides high-quality and relevant educational services and training to include, but not to be limited to English as a Second Language, preparation for the citizenship exam and GED, workforce development, teacher training, family literacy and Spanish classes. These classes are taught by highly-motivated, appropriately trained volunteer teachers who in conjunction with NSC's other programs and the community, will assist our valued clients in obtaining a richer understanding of the United States culture and society. The education department will periodically review course offerings to ensure that up-to-date course materials and methodology are used as well as adherence to "best practices" in teaching ESL.

Our Classes

We offer English as a Second Language classes both in the morning and evening hours. We have Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced level classes. Our core courses include the following skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.

Our courses are ten weeks long and classes meet two times a week for 2 1/2 hours each.
